It's been roughly two years since I updated this comic. My feelings on certain things have changed, but on the whole I still love my creation. I love the characters, I love the goals and ideas I had for them, and there's a lot of comics back there that I really liked.
Unfortunately, there are a lot that I don't like anymore, or that I feel the language was inappropriately foul. Part of me wants to go back and start GameLandEtc. over from the beginning, but I think that would be a disservice. I look back, and I see how much I've changed and grown as an entertainer, as well as on a personal level.
Even so, I'm not sure what to recommend for any new readers. There are a lot of early strips that I'm proud of, but a lot of them embarrass me at this point. I'd recommend people actually start around strip 63, as that's about when the comic started taking a more consistent shape in terms of humor. I didn't clean up the language quite yet (and I probably never will completely, there are just too many ways in which it provides an excellent emphasis), but it just feels like the jokes are more funny.
It's odd to see how much a comic can change in less than 100 strips, but I guess that's what happens when you can't regularly update that frequently. From this point on, I'd say you should expect a sort of Dresden Codak or Order of the Stick style of updating schedule. In other words, I'll get it done when it is done. Hopefully that won't mean a handful of comics and then another two years of silence.
