GamerTagged At Tora-Con April 25th
By Chris CesaranoTired of the lack of site updates? Well, unfortunately it’s going to keep being a problem for a while. In addition to all the school work and job hunting I’ve been doing, I now have to prepare my panel and table for RIT’s Tora-Con.
“What’s Tora-Con?” you ask. Well, the Rochester Institute of Technology‘s Anime Club, one of the largest anime clubs on the East Coast, is holding their fifth annual convention at the school. It’s a one day event designed to bring anime fans of all ages together at a convention that is both affordable and close enough. There aren’t many conventions in upstate New York, so a lot of folks from cities like Rochester, Buffalo and Syracuse can never make the trip to a convention. Tora-Con makes it easier. For more information, check out their website.
As for me, I will be running a panel called “How to Introduce Video Games to Outsiders”, which will cover a lot of the type of material covered in the Gaming 101 articles on the site. The general idea is how to introduce non-gamers to games, and what games to use as a gateway to our hobby.
While it is not guaranteed at the moment, I also plan on having a table in the artist’s alley where I can advertise the website and comic. Feel free to share your favorite GameLandEtc strip on the forums to help me prepare the table. If you are not yet familiar with the comic, now is as good a time as any to start.
For any readers that will be able to make it, I look forward to seeing you there. For the rest of you, I will continue to do my best to keep updating this site with articles and comics as time continues.
