Kamelot is one of those bands that seems unmetal often enough due to writing music about love and other such soft and spongy topics. However, this is part of what sets them apart and makes them far more interesting than many bands out there. After all, even metal heads need a song for their wedding day, and Kamelot is such a band as to provide.

Even so, there is something more to be said of Kamelot. In some ways they are a more high-brow form of metal, with the vocalist Roy Khan being trained in operatic singing. In addition, while they may not write songs based on bloody battles with dragons and legions of undead, they focus on philosophy and writings of Faust and Nietzsche. Ultimately one can consider Kamelot a metal band for the fan that has grown up a little, seeking out some greater substance in what they listen to while retaining the ability to bang their head.

Of that, Kamelot has no shortage of.
