What? PayPal button? LAME

By Chris Cesarano

I have turned into a self-loather. I hate the concept of a PayPal donations button on my website. It somehow proposes that I think I’m so good at what I do you should give me money for nothing but my service in return. Thus I have avoided it and tried to resort to selling t-shirts instead. I wanted the products to be cheaper than store-bought shirts as well.

Yet I’ve gotten zero support that way.

I’m still unemployed and not by choice. My ways of getting money are few and miles in between. I want to be able to get my family items for Christmas, yet I don’t know if that will be possible. So I opened up a donation button in hopes that I will get at least a few people willing to contribute a buck or two to help me out.

Unless the donations prove successful beyond my imagining, I will not keep the donation button there for permanent. I will only include it for the holidays. In the event that people actually don’t mind giving me money, I will begin to consider rewards for donations that users may find useful (aside from being able to pay for the server and thus continue to exist).

I have no expectations. I’m realistic enough to assume no one wants to give $5 to someone that writes about video games and barely every updates his comic. However, I really, REALLY want to buy my family stuff for Christmas that didn’t come from a gas station. So any potential source of funding for that won’t hurt.
